Craftsmanship

A 500-Year-Old Heartbeat in Every Thread

What We Do

The Legacy of the Wooden Block

Honoring the rhythm of the hand in the most eloquent ways, our craftsmanship withstands the blessing of Jaipur’s ancient heritage. Every creation begins not with fabric, but with wood. In the quiet corners of the Pink City, master carvers—the keepers of a dying art—use aged teakwood to chisel intricate motifs by hand. These blocks are the soul of our textiles; they are the physical manifestation of patience, where a single “Buti” or “Jali” can take days of meticulous carving to perfect.

“We work together with the artisans of Rajasthan to reside in the authenticity of Handblock Art, ensuring that the soul of the carver is felt in every fiber of your home.”

The Dance of the Chhipa

Translating the poetry of precision into the sanctuary of your home, the printing process is a masterclass in human synchronization. Our master printers, known as Chhipas, rely on a keen eye and muscle memory rather than machines.

To create our multi-colored masterpieces, the artisan must layer multiple blocks—the outline (Rekh), the filler (Datta), and the background (Gadh)—with clinical accuracy. Each strike of the wooden block against the cotton is a rhythmic heartbeat, leaving behind the “fingerprints of the artisan”—those subtle, beautiful variations in ink and alignment that verify a piece is truly handcrafted.

Blessed by the Elements

Our process is a dialogue with nature. From the initial washing of the fabric in local waters to the final setting of the dyes under the fierce Rajasthani sun, every step is governed by the environment.

  • Natural Pigments: We utilize earthy palettes and eco-conscious dyes that age gracefully.

  • The Sun’s Touch: The vibrant clarity of our prints is “baked” into the cotton by the sun, ensuring a longevity that mass-produced screen prints can never replicate.

  • Sustainable Soul: Because our craft is manual, it respects the earth, using minimal electricity and honoring the slow-craft movement.

Why We Preserve This Art

In a world of fleeting, disposable decor, we choose the “Slow-Craft.” We believe that the objects surrounding you should have a narrative, a history, and a soul. By bringing a piece of our Handblock collection into your home, you aren’t just decorating a space—you are becoming a patron of an ancient lineage. You are choosing textiles that breathe, patterns that tell stories, and a level of exquisite craftsmanship that turns everyday living into a curated gallery of heritage.
