Founder's Take
Every great idea begins with a moment of realization.
For me, that moment came when my mother and sister set out to buy an authentic Pashmina shawl — a timeless symbol of Indian artistry and heritage. To our surprise, the market was flooded with imitation wool products falsely labeled as “Pashmina.” Genuine craftsmanship was getting lost, leaving both admirers and artisans disheartened.
That experience revealed a larger truth — India’s artisans, despite their exceptional skill and generations of heritage, remain deeply underrated. Many traditional crafts are slowly disappearing in the face of fast fashion and mass production.
With a Doctorate in Management and over a decade of academic experience as an Assistant Professor, I was always driven by authenticity and purpose. Witnessing the decline of these crafts inspired me to leave behind a stable career and dedicate myself to preserving India’s handloom heritage.
As I explored the work of artisans across Rajasthan, Kashmir, Gujarat, and other regions, I discovered not just beautiful craftsmanship, but stories, traditions, and legacies worth protecting.
This conviction gave birth to Unfurl the Luxury — an initiative to celebrate Indian craftsmanship, bring it into modern homes and sustainable lifestyles, and revive rich artisan traditions through timeless, ethically handcrafted creations.
At its heart, Unfurl the Luxury stands as a bridge between artisans and admirers, tradition and modernity, conscious living and timeless elegance.

This conviction gave birth to Unfurl the Luxury — an initiative to revive and celebrate the 600-year-old legacy of handcrafted Pashmina. Each piece at Unfurl is lab-tested, certified, and ethically made, ensuring that every creation upholds the integrity and grace of true craftsmanship.
